My name is Alice, Alice Liddell. And I was wondering if you would like to have tea with me and Dra-... Mr. Malfoy. You see... well... [her voice softens.] You see, we're having tea together and while he won't admit it, I know he would enjoy it if you came.

[All of that just boggled her mind. First of all, did that girl just say her name was Alice Liddell? The same Alice from Lewis Carroll's books? Surely not, fictional characters could not possibly be real. Now she'd been invited to tea with the same girl and Draco Malfoy!

Not to mention the whole part about him enjoying Hermione's company. Either someone was playing a prank on her or this was perhaps one of the craziest things she's heard since her short time in Divination.

Hermione weighed the pros and cons of attending and possibly looking like a fool. However in the end her need for certain information that recently revealed itself to her was far greater than any cons she mentally listed. Already she had several plans that made it possible for her to show up without looking a fool.

She chooses her words carefully, making sure that none of it could be misconstrued as a pleasurable social call.]

I think tea with you and Malfoy would be very interesting. May I have the details so I can be sure to be free for the event.

[Alec was bored and flipping through his Dreamberry, surprised when he spotted a familiar name. He'd only met her a couple of times, but he wondered if that was enough to warrant contacting her now. Well, a text should be ok, right?]

Mostly just in case I forget this (which is very likely) but would you be opposed to Ron getting Hermione a cat for Christmas seeing as she does not have the monstrosity Crookshanks? It can be some ugly horrific stray he found out and about that looks as though it likes to run into walls all day long.

[early on Christmas morning - or whenever you choose to awake - there sits upon your doorstep a small package with your name neatly scrawled upon a tag. There is nothing to say exactly who the gift is from, nor how it got there.

[But inside the package is a few brownies, each cut into a perfect square and iced. And they are surprisingly good.]

[Very, very early on Christmas morning, Ron sneaks into Hermione's room in the cottage so he can leave her gift for her which just so happens to be this cat in a basket, with a card tucked into the basket.
