Power supply is very easy to replace, all you need is a screwdriver. You should be able to find a "local" computer store that will sell you one for less than $50. pictures on how to do it and lots of other hardware repair how-tos.

If you open up your tower and look around, there will be a solidly enclosed box that (on the outside of the tower) has the place where you put your plug. It simply unscrews from the frame and should have 2 to 3 cables going from it to your other computer parts. Take it with you when you go to the computer parts store because you need to makes sure you are getting one with the right screw line up. I'd check the phone book for one on Devon street or that neighborhood, call and see what they have them priced at. I bought one in Kalamazoo in 2003 for $30.

I got my replacement power supply for my old box buy buying a empty new computer case for about $100 and then just setting the power supply on top of my stupid too-small tower. They are super easy to pop in, if you want a wingman for going to Best Buy or installing it, let me know. I can bring cookies.

Point of note (not that I think this was your plan) never ever open the power supply unit itself, the can hold a charge indefinitely, and you can get one wallop of a shock.
