OK here we go, a real update. The list:
  • stress

  • socially unacceptable
  • Africa fundraising

Congrats on the contract! Wowee. That must feel goooood. I can hardly wait. Then maybe I'll get preggers again.

And wow, I'm so proud of you and A and your Africa trip. What an experience that's going to be! When do you leave and come home?

Thank you! We leave on the last day of school and come back mid-August for a wedding and then a week at the lake, lucky us. I am really looking forward to going and living somewhere where the pace is much slower!

Yeah the contract is great! A little "scary" for me cause now I know I have to commute across the city every day for at least 2 more years... the plus side would be if I get pregnant in the first year, then the year of mat leave counts as the 2nd year!

confirmation, affirmation, just plain recognition.... anonymous June 15 2005, 16:03:52 UTC

I would just love it if someone looked at me and said "oh my god you're real!"

sometimes I wonder too. Sometimes I hope I'm not. Sometimes I'm glad I'm one of the ones who is.

I'm glad you're real... you make a difference in my life!
and I'm really glad you have a website that I can read and distract myself from my life sometimes!

I
wanted to say that I can relate whole-heartedly to feeling burnt-out and
don't think that you should feel any need to justify a day for your
mental health and well-being! If there is anything that you should feel
frustrated with in our culture, it is the insistent need and push to be
constantly working...it is something that is increasingly contrasted to
life here...

Yes. Our culture sucks sometimes. I was just at a meeting where someone said, "technology is supposed to make our lives easier, but it just makes our lives BUSIER".
Indeed.
