It was nice, it didn't do much though. It just flew from one clump of trees to another. Just brief distraction from observing swan social behaviour.

That's a decent list, I'd take a Brambling any day of the week.

GW teal, what a nightmare. The last one found on my patch came from a guy who'd be messing around with his new camera. Somewhere along the way he pointed the lens into a group of teal, snapped a few shots and thought nothing more about it.
Only weeks later when he flipped through the photos did he realise there was a green-wing in the frame. We'd all missed it, including some of the top birders in the county who'd been sat next to him that morning.
Moral of the story? There's any never wrong taking a picture, and GW teal are sneaky wee bastards.

Haha, I should have taken my camera :P maybe next time...ther'd been a smew hanging around in front of that hide all morning as well, but it buggered off just before we got there. sneaky, sneaky ducks.
