Rabastan blinked awake. He turned his head to the right and saw the creamy white expanse of skin of her back. He reached out and traced the groove in her back with a long finger. He smiled at the involuntary shiver his touch evoked, but she didn't turn to face him. Rosalind always slept that way. She never slept facing him. Even after tonight, when she had stupidly blurted out her feelings for him. Rabastan sighed silently and turned onto his side, away from her.
He opened his eyes when he felt an arm come around him. A small hand laid itself on his chest. Bare skin molded against his. A face nuzzled against his back and breathed in his scent. After a brief moment, he closed eyes and laid his own hand over the one on his chest. He smiled when he heard a soft, contented sigh behind him.
