No, actually, I don't, but I do get around the icon community enough to know that there has been an outbreak in people freaking out about their brushes being used to create textures that are being shared with the community. I put that little notice on there so people will know ahead of time that I only use my own resources and to not come to my icon journal and expect to bitch at me about it when I don't. I can understand some people getting upset about this, yes, but I think some people need to take a chill pill and realize that this is meant to be enjoyable and not all dramatic. I get enough of that in the real world, thank you.
I feel for you. I'm getting so sick of the "credit me or I'll have a huge fucking tantrum" thing that I'm starting to tell people NOT to credit me when they use my icons. For chrissakes, people, we're using photography or artwork BY other people, OF other people who have not specifically given us permission to use their likenesses in our icons. We're as guilty of theft as anyone, so these 100x100 pixels? Not so big a deal.
And I'll tell you another thing (you lucky girl): anyone comes to my journal bitching about lack of credit (which is crap, because I credit everyone whose stuff I use), they'll be told to pucker up and kiss my pudgy white ass.
Hell, if they do that to you, tell me and I'll come to your journal and tell 'em that for you [grin]
I know! It has really gotten out of control. I mean, again, I can understand some people getting upset about people using their work when they really do create everything from scratch(AKA insomiax/owner of hybrid-genesis), but when you use copyrighted material yourself and then freak out on someone else for using your brushes to make textures...I mean...come on! I'm all for credit and all, but sometimes people need to step back and realize that the whole icon-scene is suppose to be fun and enjoyable and that's why it [usually] doesn't cost a thing! Bah! Guess I'm just getting insanely tired with all the angst. Again...have enough of that in the real world over stupid things! And with me having a new job, I don't need anymore added angsty-stress from people complaining about copyright infringment upon the stuff they copyright infringed upon
