Dogs B&C:
Side chapter pages 1-6 This takes place roughly between volume zero and DOGS B&C.
The first thing that hit him was the smell of home cooking - some sort of tomato based sauce.
"Geeze! Don't just run off and leave behind like that, you bastard." It was Eyepatch's voice for sure, and he sounded like he was talking with his mouth full of food.
"That's why I'm treating you to lunch, aren't I?" It was his voice, and he sounded less than happy he was doing this for Eyepatch.
"You think something like this makes up for it!?" Eyepatch raised his voice in a tantrum like manner.
"Like what exactly?" It was a woman's voice, and he was pretty sure he never heard that voice before.
"Uh...no, no! I wasn't trying to insult your food or anything like that!" It seemed the restaurant owner over heard them. "It's delicious! Buonissimo!" Eyepatch replied to them.
He snorted at Eyepatch's attempt to cover his tracks, but soon Eyepatch spoke again. "Anyway...What happened to the girl who was with you?" The girl? Did he mean the girl with the wings?
"She doesn't seem to have relatives or anyone like that." He could tell he had a long day by his voice. "So I'm leaving her under Bishop's care for a while." Who was Bishop?
"What? With Bishop?" He could hear Eyepatch slurp up his food. "You sure it's okay to leave her with that shady priest...?" Eyepatch's voice actually showed genuine concern and actually fear.
"...I think it might've been better to leave her with Granny Liza now..." That name, he heard it somewhere before in a previous memory.
"Well, do whatever you want, man." He heard Eyepatch get up. "Thanks for the meal."
"Going home?" He asked, and it was actually in a polite tone.
"I'm out of smokes." He replied in a friendly tone back.
"Oh, we carry some here, you know. Smoking isn't allowed inside the store, though." It was the woman who owned the restaurant/store.
"No thanks," Eyepatch said in a polite manner. "I already know where I wanna buy 'em."
He heard a door creek open. "Oh?" Eyepatch seemed surprised.
"Well if it isn't B----. Are you going home now?" The voice was new and sounded like an older man.
"Enough with the chit-chat. Did you get everything?" The woman obviously asked the man who just walked in.
"Oh! S-s-sorry about that! I got a little lost at the fish market!" He sounded nervous; they probably knew each other.
"Alright, I'm off. Good luck dealing with her, Mihai." Eyepatch walked out the door, laughing a bit.
"Here, give me the bags." Maybe they were a couple? The woman sounded like she was ordering him around.
He could smell coffee as the conversation was going on, and he was eagerly paying attention to it. "You got everything right this time I hope?"
"Yes ma'am." This Mihai replied back.
"Hey, there. You must be Mihaeroff." So his name wasn't Mihai? At least he was speaking again.
"Oh?" Miha-whatever it is replied back.
"That's B----'s partner." The woman clarified.
"I heard you helped out B----. Something about being a bodyguard?" He asked.
"He said that, huh? If you call knocking out some guys with a plate of bread protecting someone, then yeah, I guess I did." A laugh; it seemed violence was nothing new to this man.
"Hmm? A plate of bread?" Eyepatch must have been desperate. He could hear himself getting up through the table and his chair creaking. "Well it doesn't really matter. Anyway, I'll leave the bill here."
"Thanks! You should drop by and eat too next time!" The woman giggled, and her voice just sent a shiver up his spine.
"...if I get hungry." He didn't like that woman, it was something about her voice and demeanor.
As he was leaving, he could hear them speak. "...what a cold guy."
"He's just being shy, how cute!" The voice was girly, but soon all he could hear was the sounds of a street.
"Tch..." He was annoyed with what he heard. He could hear his foot steps, but another set of foot steps were right behind him. The steps stopped, and suddenly there was no sound and smell.
