At half past six, Jon enters the club that he was told to come to. The music and Jack's singing is indeed great and he leans against the wall, enjoying his beer and watching the man on stage.
After the show, and the congratulations and fawning all around, Jack makes a swing past the bar and then to the back corner, where stands his special guest.
"Hello. Fancy a drink before we go up?" Jack bats his painted lashes toward the ceiling.
'Up' appears to be a set of ramshackle steps leading up to a narrow walkway to rooms. The railings are shaky two by fours. The whole club looked as if it had seen better days, and the upstairs been made over from sex rooms and lighting platforms. Jack was saving his money to buy a place of his own, or buy in as a singer in a much nicer one.
Jon smiles openly at Jack and nods. "Yeah, a drink would be grand."
While they wait for the drinks, Jon takes a look around. He doesn't mind that it's not anything purty or glamourous - he's never been fond of all that glamour and glitter some people associate with being famous. He's content with having a home and enough money to live.
"So this is where you live or just where you perform?"

More likely the latter than the former.
