No. But I've never seen them at Shirokiya or anywhere in Hawaii. We've decided that next time we're in Hawaii, we're going to Shirokiya and he's buying us a new set of tea cups. Apparently J yelled at him a lot yesterday and he did feel really bad, so he's been trying to make it up to us. Last night he came home from soccer with a really cool lamp he found at CMU.
I think the one thing Z might understand is money. Make the deal with him that he'll give you retail for everthing he breaks and if he can't pay it back, you'll give him a low low APR of 15% (as if he used a creditcard). This will teach him the value of stuff and maybe teach him about credit cards too. I've never met him but when I think of him, I often have pity. He seems to have been victimized by his adorable youngest child status.
When I was a kid, I was constrained in high school to $5/week for my chores. That's probably about $10/week nowadays and that doesn't buy a whole lot. When I had fits of temper and may have broken the house a couple times, I was responsible for fixing it.
I am quite excited about getting my box from you. May the gods of UPS speed it on it's way! PS. You also still owe me a picture of where the vase settled in your house.
Oh and I can practically promise you that I'll be visiting for carnival. I have a great deal of homesickness for the 'burgh.
That's a pretty interesting plan. I'll pass it on to J and see what he thinks. He does understand credits cards, since he has them. They piggyback on his parent's accounts, so he does need to be conscious not only of his impact on his own credit, but his parents' as well. I think placing a monetary value on things may cause him to think more. He's really just doesn't have it in his head to be careful about things, despite the fact that he has broken several of his mother's crystal glasses as other things in the past. He limits himself to using plastic cups both here and at home because he understands his propensity to break glasses, but that only relieves him of the risk, it doesn't address it
( ... )
Take pics of the house when you guys are done! I would love to see it again... and Anthony would love to play with Pinky again! I promise he won't try to poke his butt anymore... *lol*
