How's the knitting going? I just did my first cable! It's a little rinky dink purse that I'm going to give to freeloader's mom but the sense of accomplishment is nice.

I haven't attempted a cable just yet. I think they're awesome, but I'm so intimidated by them. How was it to knit up? Right now I'm working on an apple hat for my brother's new baby girl. I recently finished an octopus bath mitt for our friend's baby and I'm going to make one for my brother too I think. They're super easy to knit up. The pattern is here, http://zakkalife.blogspot.com/2007/08/knit-octopus-bath-mitt.html. I striped a little blue in my tentacles to give it some extra color and varied the tentacle length a little. It really is amazingly cute in person
