A Free Man at Last -- All Class, All the Time
Well at long last it has finally come to pass... as of 10:30 this morning, I am officially divorced! Many folks I've met over the last few years probly didn't even know I was once married, so since today my first (and hopefully last) trip to a German courtroom was successful, I thought I'd post the little scoop.... Both sides won!
If you know me, and you know my ex, Ms. Lana Loveland, you know we are great pals, and we designed it so we'd remain so long after the marriage dissolved.... If memory serves me, we discussed that before we even discussed the wedding date -- but I'd never been known to be too linear in thoughts or actions anyway, so whtdja expect?
Of course, in true Wrecker fashion, after the judge stood us up to announce the divorce, I leaned over and kissed the ex-Bride and said "Finally!"
So if ya didn't know, this divorce is over 3 years in the making.
Official facts announced by courts, (for posterity) for the curious and plain nosy:
Married: 21.08.2001, Las Vegas, NV (Elvis as witness, natch)
Separated: 07.2005, Berlin, DE
Divorced: 01.10.2008, Pankow, Berlin (Female lawyer present, kinda tickled)
So, the divorce party will be announced for after the upcoming Fuzztones Okt/Nov Tour, which I sadly will NOT be playing on due to the inclusion of original Gonn-bassist, Craig Moore in the lineup for this one. We will register for divorce gifts at a number of fine stores in the metropolitan Berlin area, so shop early...
... and speaking of shopping, my annual legendary birthday party falls on Halloween Night 31.10.08 Friday, so prepare your costumes for the Speakeasy weirdness.
