Hey, Steph here - have you tried using dressmaker's chalk to mark the black birds? It rubs off when you're finished, but I used it all the time for the darker pieces of my costume and my hats :)
I'll try that. Our neighbor at Acen suggested using slivers of white soap to do the marking.
I was using a special white marker I got at Hancock to mark the black fleece, but it had faded by the next day. It didn't really go on strong in the first place, anyway. I suspect it had to do with the fleecy material I was working with.
Yeah, fleece is pretty difficult to work with in general, esp black. I broke a sewing machine needle just sewing a lot of my hats x.x I've never tried soap but I think the chalk usually works well.
Avatar: They are singing a song from Arrested Development, which, if you haven't seen it yet really you must get on that ASAP because it is probably the most clever show I have ever seen!
