additional notes So this is this the first of two one-shots I wrote today. For the one-hour fic challenge , aoimidori picked two of my responses to prompts given to me in this one-sentence fic meme I did sometime ago, plus an additional prompt given shortly before the challenge started. With that prompt, we are to write a fic at least 500 words in length. You can read her fic for this challenge here, which contains Aiba / Jun / Donghae fluffiness. :D
original sentence

The first time Donghae whispered, "I think it's you," into his ear,Kibum was frozen with shock and fear; however, during the second time around,he felt his heart melt into a puddle as Donghae took his hand and placed it in his pocket.

additional prompt

Kibum was about to give up.

He was in his room, standing over a desk gazing at a Donghae sleeping on piles of paper and opened books. It had only been a few days since they started university life together as roommates and already, living with Donghae was becoming tiresome. Donghae did nothing but sleep, eat, watch TV, and pretend to be buried in homework, while Kibum did all the necessary tasks to keep their room habitable. Sighing exasperatedly, Kibum tried to nudge Donghae awake with a ruler, but his efforts were in vain.

He glanced outside the window and looked at the cloudy sky, then sighed. He was hoping that he could take Donghae with him to do some grocery shopping for dinner. It looked like snow was about to fall, and he wanted to be inside the dorm before it did.

All of a sudden, Donghae's body shot up which made Kibum move slightly back in surprise.

"It's time for my favorite cartoon!" Donghae exclaimed and stood up, almost running towards the TV set at the far end of the room. Before he could take even two steps, however, Kibum grabbed his wrist.

"Grocery. You promised me," Kibum said quietly, looking straight into Donghae's puffy eyes.

Donghae pouted and tried to break free. "But Kibum, I can't miss this Yakitatte Japan! episode even if my life depended on grocery shopping."

"Your life does depend on grocery shopping," Kibum pointed out. "We've got nothing in our fridge left."

Donghae tried to break free again, but Kibum's grip only tightened. "Can't you do it alone?" he asked.

"I'm sure there'll be re-runs in the near future," was Kibum's only answer. It was now Donghae's turn to sigh, and let Kibum's grip take him towards the door.

---

Once they started walking in the streets, Donghae's sour mood changed. He was looking around with a bright smile on his face. Kibum knew that Donghae loved the winter season, for it reminded him of his favorite holiday: Christmas. The streets were littered with Christmas decorations and people who were on an early start in Christmas shopping were rushing back and forth with bags and boxes in their hands.

"Kibum-ah," Donghae began, all of a sudden as they entered the grocery store. "Flowers would have made the winter season perfect, don't you think so?"

Kibum shook his head. "You're just so strange," was all he said as he took a cart from near the store's entrance.

"Then why did you pick me as your roommate?" Donghae asked stretching his arms behind him.

Kibum didn't answer and pushed the cart on. He pretended to look at some vegetables while thinking of what to say. At first, it seemed like the most natural thing to do, despite knowing that Donghae would be someone difficult to live with. He refused to take on any of the household chores, and complained about homework he never had or did when Kibum asked him for help. To make matters worse, Donghae had issues with eating alone: Donghae just couldn't eat without anyone sitting in front of or beside him, so Kibum had to deal with that, too. Indeed, Donghae was his good friend, and back in their days as students of Neul Paran High, he had been an invaluable ally when Kibum was trying to end what had then been called, The Attack on the Pin-up Boys. But still, was living like Donghae's slave worth it?

Just as that question popped into his mind, Donghae lazily wrapped his arm around Kibum's shoulders, as he always did when he was getting bored.

Kibum then decided that living like this was worth it, because he liked it when Donghae put his arm around him like this. Just being with Donghae made him feel warm, and he found the way Donghae said strange things like there should be flowers in wintertime to be one of his most endearing qualities. Needless to say, he liked Donghae, and even if he refused to admit it, his feelings for the other boy had grown into something deeper and more frustrating. It was precisely why Kibum nagged Donghae into coming with him to the grocery store, despite being perfectly capable of shopping by himself.

---

As it turned out, they didn't have a lot of things to buy, and they were done in thirty minutes. The sun had gone down, the Christmas lights glowed brighter than they had earlier, and the air had grown much colder. Kibum waved at Panda, whom they bumped into as the they were about to leave the store.

"It's good to see people from Neul Paran, isn't it?" Donghae asked Kibum as Panda entered the grocery store behind them. Kibum only nodded in reply.

After walking for a few feet, Donghae took Kibum's free hand in his. "You're cold, aren't you?" he asked.

Kibum, again, nodded silently, distracted with the thoughts he had inside the grocery store. He liked Donghae, and what Donghae was doing, wasn't helping at all.

"I'm not that cold, you know," Donghae spoke again as he continued to hold Kibum's hand. "Something is keeping me warmer than usual, for some reason," he continued and smiled at Kibum.

After a few minutes, they arrived at the door entrance, where Donghae suddenly stopped and laid the grocery bag he was carrying on the floor. Donghae placed his face near Kibum's ear. Kibum wrinkled his forehead in wonder as to what Donghae was doing.

"I think it's you."

Kibum felt Donghae's hand tighten around his as Donghae's lips brush against his cheeks.

# I... actually like the one sentence better than the fic itself. Haha. This one is too cheesy and I don't like cheesy things. =/ And elements from the movie to make it movie-verse were kinda forced, especially the part when Panda comes in.
