Kiros and Quistis- Making Plans [G]

bluemagewoman: Mr. Seagill?

estharian wit: Oh, Ms. Trepe. Good to hear from you.

bluemagewoman: Thank you. It was good to see your note, as well.

estharian wit: Sooo, you're up for discussing this secretary position, I assume?

bluemagewoman: That I am. If you'd prefer to do this in person, I'm about to take a late train to Timber from Dollet and layover there until tomorrow, where I had planned to take a train home to Balamb. However, from Timber, I can really travel anywhere you might like to meet.

estharian wit: Well, that sounds good to me. I've already cancelled most of my activities for this week in order to prepare for my fun-filled adventures across the land. Is there a specific time you think you'll be in Esthar?

bluemagewoman: Well, I had no actual plans to visit Esthar, but my agenda is currently clear. I can probably reach the city by the day after tomorrow. The train ride is a long one.

bluemagewoman: Will that be convenient for you?

estharian wit: Perfectly fine with me. Oh, and like you said, your trip is gonna be long, and I wouldn't trust train food.. so if you don't mind, we can talk over lunch or something. My treat.

bluemagewoman: Sounds lovely. Should I simply present myself at the Palace when I arrive or is there some hotel that I should check into? I don't recall one from my last visit there.

estharian wit: Oh no. I'll have someone sent over from the Palace to pick you up. You'll be staying over here with the rest of the gang. I can have one of the suites ready for you on arrival.

bluemagewoman: Thank you very much. Your consideration is certainly appreciated.

estharian wit: Meh, it's no problem. After all, you've certainly more than deserve a little bit of royal treatment.

estharian wit: ... well.

estharian wit: Pseudo royal. You'll hate it within three days.

estharian wit: Trust me.

bluemagewoman: Well...not to boast, but I have a little experience in, shall we say, puppy-eyed hero worship? I'm aware of some of its more...er, trying aspects. But you're correct -- I doubt I'll like it as long as three days.

estharian wit: Well then, you'll fit in just fine with the rest of us! By the way, try not to look any of the maids in the eye. They'll give you extra towels if intimidated.

bluemagewoman: I'll keep that in mind, although I'm hardly intimidating in everyday circumstances...I think.
estharian wit: I'd like to think that everyone's intimidating in their own way, Ms. Trepe.

estharian wit: ... Except for Laguna.

estharian wit: But then again, that's Laguna.

bluemagewoman: *laughs* I do believe you're right. I don't think that President Loire could intimidate a butterfly. But that's what he has you and Mr. Zabac for, isn't it?

estharian wit: Of course. Gotta have the complete package or nothing at all!

bluemagewoman: Yes, it wouldn't be right to see one of you without the other.Friendships like that are very...inspirational.

estharian wit: I'd hope so. I'd managed to keep it for twenty years- it better inspire someone.

bluemagewoman: Well, I assure you that it inspires me. I'm a great believer in friendship.

estharian wit: That's real good to hear. And for my corny line for the day, you keep on believing in it, and it'll get you further than you'd ever imagine.

bluemagewoman: Ah, that sounds like something the president said when we saw him just before we fought Ultimecia.

estharian wit: *laughs* Yeah, Laguna may be missing a few screws, but he's got a lot more wisdom and common sense than one would think. I've learned a lot from him. But don't go and tell anyone that I'm actually speaking good of him. I have a reputation for being a snarky, bitter old man to keep up.

bluemagewoman: *laughs* Don't worry, your secret is safe with me...as long as you promise if you ever see me imbibe alcohol, you will never tell Squall or Zell. They seem to have the idea that I shouldn't ever drink.

estharian wit: I'll keep that in mind Solider's promise, my good woman. *laughs*

bluemagewoman: Thank you. You don't know how much that means to me!

estharian wit: Ha ha, trust me. I think I have an idea.

bluemagewoman: It's nice to have someone understand you.

estharian wit: Yeah. It doesn't happen often, I'll tell you.

bluemagewoman: Yes, I know. In fact, I felt very kindred to you when I was reading in your journal about how certain people like to foist their responsibilities onto their more capable friends and co-workers. That, I understand well.

estharian wit: *laughs* Yeah, well, I don't really mind it that much, but sometimes even I can't handle it, you know? Sometimes I'd like to pass the reigns to someone else, but I just feel obligated to take everything head on myself. But one thing: make sure I don't dump everything on you like they do me- I'm trying to break the cycle here, you see.

bluemagewoman: A good man with a good heart. I think I may enjoy working with you, Mr. Seagill. And I'll be sure to make sure that we break the cycle, never fear.

estharian wit: Now that's what I like to hear! Appreciation of my goodness. Naw, I'm kiddin'. I'm sure I won't regret having you on the team. You seem like a hard worker who knows her stuff, and I totally respect that. First thing in the morning, I'll talk to the Council and make sure everything goes nice and smooth with your pass and full city access priveledges.

bluemagewoman: Those words I like to hear: full access and privledges. *laughs*

estharian wit: Damn straight!

bluemagewoman: *laughs* I'm a firm believer in rank having privledges. Otherwise, why would I be a SeeD?

estharian wit: Good point. Ugh. Pardon my late response- I just conned my way out of writing crap. It's too late for all of this. Don't people sleep anymore?

bluemagewoman: Hmm, they should. I'd be asleep but I'm waiting to catch the last train out of Dollet.
estharian wit: Well, don't wear yourself out. Gotta keep your strength up for whatever'll come your way.

bluemagewoman: I hope to sleep on the train. Travel is much easier that way and I'll have the SeeD compartment all to myself.

estharian wit: A natural, normal sleep, I'd hope. I can count on my fingers how many times people have attempted to drug passengers using the transporters here. You'd think they'd invent some sort of system that detects gases in the mock-atmosphere...

bluemagewoman: Oh, my. Perhaps my mercenary training will be of more use as your secretary than I thought it would. But to your question -- yes, a natural sleep. The SeeD compartment is secured against such invasions.

estharian wit: That's good to know. Well, I'm not gonna bore you to death any longer with my ramblings- I've got a few things I want to finish up and get out of my way before I hit the sheets; if there's one thing I hate, it's having to work immediately upon waking.

bluemagewoman: I understand completely and I'll let you get on with your tasks so that you can get some sleep. Can't have the hardest working man in Esthar going without rest.

estharian wit: Hyne forbid I stay awake all night. What WOULD the neighbors think?

estharian wit: You take care of yourself there, Quistis.

bluemagewoman: Same to you, Kiros. See you in a day or two.
