He ascended up the stairs to Ipsen's Castle slowly, a near limp in his step. There was a very uncharacteristic cramp in his leg, and it was hindering his process. He somehow managed, though, to climb to the highest room of the highest tower, where a canopy bed was waiting for him. He stood still in the tiny, round room for a moment, simply gazing at the cold, stone walls, before he lay himself down on the bed. He peered out the sky from the window that trickled sunlight in from the vast skies outside of his new prison. He could see Tiamat's silhouette circling his tower, and he at once felt comforted.

He began to weave his magic then, binding spells together into the one he had in mind. He enhanced a hundred sleep spells together, linking each together with fragments of a charm spell. Through the room, he threaded a stop spell so that time would freeze. Nothing would disturb, not even the flowers at his bedside, until the entire spell was shattered, and all that could break the spell would be the kiss of... well, anyone, really. Kuja did not feel picky at this point, nor did he care much. Once everything was in place, he let go and felt the spells hum to life instantly, filling the room. Kuja sank back against against his pillows and fell into a sleep so deep it bordered on death. He prayed to awake to Sephiroth, but dared not to hope.

have you heard the tale of Sleeping Beauty?

[xD This is open to anyone, really, though I doubt anyone will try except for Sephiroth. Poor, unloved Kuja. Anyone and everyone who does try will have to race Sephie and give Tiamat a damn good reason to let you through though. ^.~ Heh. This entire mini-plot is just me being silly. Oh, and s/he who kisses Kuja is stuck with him. Charm spell, you understand. Powerful one.]

Sephiroth, 'tis Kuja. Perhaps you wonder where I have gone. Perhaps you would accept that I am gone, and never think twice upon it again. However, I have decided to spare you the mystery and send you this letter. I am in Ipsen's Castle. I am sure it is unfamiliar to you, but I have left the Invincible on the outskirts of Kalm for you to embark on, for she has Ipsen's Castle programmed into her autopilot. However, Sephiroth, please do not come seek me out unless you intend to make a decision. I no longer walk among the living, but I am perfectly content with the arrangement. I have displaced a room of the castle out of time - the highest room of the highest tower. Time will not pass, nothing will age. The room has been saturated in Sleep, and that is exactly what I will do until someone comes to awaken me, or I will not awaken at all. I am at peace, though, and all is still in my heart. If you chose Cloud, leave me be. I am content with this arrangement. If you chose me, come and awaken me, but realize if you discard me again it will be the last time. I am a person, Sephiroth, not a bauble to be cast aside whenever Cloud waltzes into the room. I am waiting. I will wait forever if I have to.

-Kuja-

P.S. Tiamat will eat you and feed your bones to her brood if you come with even a hint of uncertainty. The grave part of that is that I do not even mean it as a threat, my friend. Tread lightly.
