This is such a late comment, but yayyy I'm so glad you applied! :D
I'm having a tough time with you -- I see the Monk, the Soldier, the Thief and the White Mage. Overall, though, I think Monk wins out for me. Soldier I can see for positive & negative traits like whoa, and your answers to #4 and #5. Thief for the adaptability and general cheerful life-is-short feel. White Mage because the dichotomies fit really well and you just have a nice, supportive vibe.
BUUUUT I'm going with Monk because I think they have a kind of spirituality, they are nice but can be blunt, and the dichotomies fit really well. Soldier would probably be my second choice.
In the beginning, I say Thief. The more I read, the more I lean toward Soldier, as you seem to have a good selection of traits for every one of the suggested classes, but all of which don't contradicts Soldier as much as it may do so for others, if that makes sense.
Ahh... I'm no good in long answers. I choose you! to be Monk. Your general outlook in life really leaned me towards this class. Heck, I was really thinking more of either White Mage or Dragoon, but there was more not characteristics of those than Monk. You say you seem like Tifa, and if you are a game character, you might actually be like her. You can have super human strength then. lol. You value your friends, but also know what would please them better in saving the others before them; your bluntness and your jumping into something is like the monk's description.
I'm going to be honest that while I can see where you're getting the Monk and Soldier votes, I keep coming back to the strong theme of adventure/independence in your entire application (both explicit and implicit) as your most defining characteristic and that makes me vote Thief. It goes along with your character trait answer of adaptability, too, and I think what you've pointed out in the weakness section as not caring about what people think is just another kind of freedom/adaptability.
Of all the character classes, I can't imagine one more than a Thief that would have the right temperament to experience and process change the way you describe here; that, combined with some of your answers in #3 is why I voted Thief in the end. Welcome! :)
I can see a few other classes working well, but none quite as well as the Monk class. Blunt, not caring what people think of them (lol, I'd call that a positive trait), adaptable... The line about seeing a silver lining fits the majority of them perfectly, and the earlier monks have a type of spirituality. They're a lot more forgiving than most other options as a whole, and much of your reasoning in the situational questions fits well.
