Week 49: Movie Madness - Submit

Feb 23, 2007 20:19

In honor of the Academy Awards (Feb. 25th) (aka the Oscars) . . .

Challenge: Movie Madness

"I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am."
~On the Waterfront, 1954

This week, FF goes to the movies! XD I am going to leave this one open to interpretation, but here are a few suggestions to get you started:

--Use a movie quote on your icon. (If you choose to do this, please tell me what the quote is & what movie it's from.) The Oscar website has a nice selection here, but you're free to find them anywhere. Also, if you'd like to parody a well-known quote, go for it! Just let me know what the original quote was, so I can add it to the notes. ^^

--Make your icon look like a movie poster. Dramatic poses, a catchy tag-line . . . you could use a real film as your inspiration (YRP = Dreamgirls), or go wild & create your own ("The Bride of Bahamut"!!!).

--Photo manip. a character into a scene from your fave movie, or turn them into an actor in a famous role. Basch as Maximus in Gladiator? LeBlanc as Marilyn Monroe? Laguna as William Wallace?

--Use brushes that look like film reels 1, 2, add a mini-movie animation to your icon, photo manip. an Oscar into someone's hand--really, anything you can think of.

If you have any questions, just ask! ^^

Rules:

--Each member may submit up to 2 icons. But if you decide to make 2, please don't use the same style for both. Experiment a little!
--Icons must conform to livejournal standards: 100x100px & 40KB or less, in .gif, .jpg, or .png format.
--Icons must be made new for the challenge.
--Don't use or showcase your entry icon(s) until the winners have been announced.
--Fanart and doujinshi can be used, but if the artist does not want his/her work modified, please don't use it.

Icons are due by Thursday, March 1st at 8pm EST.

Submissions should be left in a comment to this post. (All comments will be screened.)
