Okay, okay, I'll admit I said this icon was simple to make. So, that's why I have spent hours of trial and error to figure out exactly what I did. =/ So I do have a variation and I think that it looks quite close.

do you have a link to that texture set? i have been looking for someting along those lines (BLOOD!) forever! Thanks for the link to their stuff, seems like i gots me a new source of goodies.

I was using this tutorial while making the banner for your icon and I discovered you can get the purple if you use a selective coloring layer and increase the cyan/decrease the yellow in the Red :)
