Archive You know, there's times when boredom strikes you so hard it almost makes you fall to the ground. It's almost agonizing.
Wait, did I say almost? It is PERFECTLY HORRIBLY agonizing to be bored.
Yet the only person who can do anything against it is yourself.
But it's hard to make a decision on that. Decisions can't be taken back that easily when you're an adult, right? Things you decide are decided and there's almost no way of turning back or backing out like you could do when you were a kid. I can't come up with an apology now, like "ah, I didn't get to finish yesterday's homework because of this and that". It just doesn't work any longer when you're having a proper job.
And today is one of those days were I'd most likely just fall asleep.
Yet I can't just fall asleep because there are too many people around. I'm sitting in this boring meeting, everyone else around me is discussing our next projects. But luckily there's always a silver lining, right? My silver lining is sitting opposite from me at the large conference table. By saying large I mean the table is very long, but rather narrow... Do you get what I mean?
I know, I'm a bit random, but you would be random too if you were in my situation right now.
Okay, to make things clear: I'm sitting in the conference room, the head of the department is doing his usual motivation speech, but I don't bother listening at all.
Why? Because of my silver lining. Lol.
You still don't get it, huh?
My silver lining is one of my co-workers called 'Emi'.I look at her and see that leacherous grin. Upon noticing that I lift one eyebrow in surprise. Well, my expression becomes even more surprised, maybe even struggled as I feel her foot sliding up my leg. She leans back on her seat and her foot slides over my thigh. I already know where she's going though.
And yep, her grin widens as her foot slides even higher. I shake my head in a silent warning and reach underneath the table to make her stop, at the same time I see how she's jotting down a note on a piece of paper. She slides it across the table secretly so I can read.
"Relax, or you'll bore yourself to death"
It makes me chuckle softly and I let go of her foot.
To be honest, everytime she couldn't manage to sit down opposite from me I was frustrated as soon as these meetings started. I had learned to like her little footsie games. We never really talked to each other, it was just limited to footsie during meetings though, which I found quite amusing. I knew nothing than her name, although she was working in the same department and everything for about a year now, yet we have never really talked. I can't even remember how this started, it just did.
As her foot reached its destination I close my eyes for a second and lean forward to hide any evidences to my co-workers sitting on either sides of me at the table. No one has to know a thing about what's happening when we have this meeting at the end of every week. So although I am bored when entering the conference room there's still this silver lining named Emi and I can be sure she'll provide me with a little alternation. Ah, I'm being random again.
Anyway. The meeting today is over surprisingly soon and this means we're released into the weekend, finally. She pulls back her foot and smiles sheepishly before getting up and leaving the conference room. While I'm still clearing my stuff in my office booth not much later I hear someone approaching me. It's her. And I'm understandably surprised.
"So, Takashima-san, what are you up to now?" she asks me.
"Uh... Weekend."
She pokes my tummy and grins. "What do you think about having dinner with me so we can finally get acquainted properly?"
"Sure. But under one condition."
"What condition?"
"I want to pay you back for the... well... I just want to pay you back." I grin and quickly pull her closer for a short kiss.
Somehow I've got the feeling there would be some other sort of satisfaction during this weekend.
A/N: Yaaah, I'm sitting in school and I'm bored, and that's why I wrote this.
Lol. I have no idea. There' no plot and it's so random XD
But it kept me busy even after writing because LJ seems to hate me today and the cut was absolutely screwed up... GRRRRR
