Got The Christmas Tree Up At Last!

Dec 20, 2013 00:28

Amazing how long it takes to put up a Christmas tree! I kid myself every year that I am going to get it done in an hour or so......but it always end up taking me the whole afternoon! Still have about 6 presents to buy which I plan to do on Sunday - then Monday I have a family lunch and cooking mince pies and sausage rolls in the afternoon/evening ( Read more... )

My tree was standing exactly where it is now but empty for 2 days - mostly because it was wet and I was worried about putting the lights on it, I am so relieved to have it done now! Still have the Nativity to do though.
Must be about your busiest couple of weeks at work at the moment LA - Please don't bother to ask you Pastor for an early finish for one day ;-) xx

But your tree is much prettier'n mine ... it's real, ain't it? *sniffle* (can't have a real tree in an apt) If you see a li'l apparition in the corner there, don't swat it; it's just me, smelling in absentia ... that didn't sound right, did it? *snert*

Yeah, will be doing, or trying to do, the same thing this year with Christmas as Thanksgiving. It's a much bigger "do" though, so time will tell.

No I can see how dragging a real tree in and out of an apartment would be tricking particularly in knee high snow! Hubby went to get this one for us and he made a good choice bless him. All of my Christmas decks are old old old, built up over 37 years together, sometimes I look at these designer type trees all the decks and tinsel in two colours but my kids expect to see all their familiar stuff on the tree....plus candy canes and chocs of course!....but you can come over and sniff away any year you like Mare! xx

Oh, it's not the dragging in that's the prob, it's that real trees are a fire hazard because some twits let them dry out. Remember the terrible fire we had a couple years ago: the triple threat: dried out tree, woman fell asleep on the sofa with a lit cigarette, & a non-working smoke alarm (no battery). Engulfed most of the building & the blowing ash threatened to set our building ablaze. Moron cost twelve families everything they had ... and at Christmas, too. *shaking head*
So now it's not legal to keep a real tree.
*pouts*
Maybe I'll buy a wreath.
