we finally fixed our error 1558 with port forwarding. we have dsl and are going through a actiontec gateway which has some firewalls that doesnt allow the info to get through. there is a list of ports in the book for ff that has ports that are needed to be opened for the ps2 to be able to communicate with the outside world. if youre going through a pc first then to the ps2 you have to open those ports.
