Notes on partying with a BLU from a P.O'd BLU

I know there are some of you who have absolutely no idea what a skillchain is, and while some of you are simply new to the game, I know that some of you are just a bunch of TP-burning set of n00bs who only learn what a skillchain is for when you get your trial weapons ( Read more... )

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Speaking as both someone who's been around a long time too damn long, and as a BLU, this needs to be ground into people's brains.

And yes, this community is totally dead. :/ It's sad.

For the record, not EVERY newer-generation player is all ZOMGTPBURN. I joined a bit over a year ago and yet ever since Valkurm I've preferred standard PT setups with skillchains and magic bursts. That being said, kudos on the post. I'd rate you up if we had such a system in place here.

I think one of the reasons the community is rather silent is because nobody really knows what's worth saying. I mean, if you WANT I can keep all of you updated on which moron is screwing up my latest woodworking profit synth, but I think we'd all prefer a slightly more positive atmosphere here.

I <3 skillchains. I have never partied with a BLU before, but I find the job interesting. (And as a newer community member, I am sad that it's sort of dead.)

Further proof that ToAU ruined FFXI

It sort of did, and sort of didn't. On one hand, ToAU liberated players from the constraints of the standard party setup; with the way ToAU's monsters were setup, you no longer had to worry about a tank, magic damage, perfectly paired-up DDs, or whatnot. Now you could create a TP burn PT, a BLU PT, a manaburn PT, whatever.

On the other hand, ToAU also destroyed the standard party setup because the benefits and rewards of fighting in ISP areas is so damned nice: easy access to battlefields, better rewards with your ISP, faster spawning mobs with lower HP, better options through Sanction, just to name a few. With benefits and rewards like that, who wants to go back to Sky, KRT, Moon, or Ulegarand Range again?

Of course, with the destruction of the standard party setup came the obsolescence of skillchain knowledge. If all you're doing is busting out Rampage or Blade: Jins, what the hell do you need a skillchain for?

Hopefully, WotG will try to bring the standard party setup - or at least something resembling it - back to the ( ... )

It took me awhile to learn about and catch on about skill chains but once I did I agree they are EXTREMELY important to getting chains and XP. Get the monster there, kill it, pull while it has about 10% left, kill first one off, and repeat.

Thank you for doing such a get "WTF" for FFXI. Hey, they have FAQ and we have "WFTs."
