kindness of strangers - i

this post won't have the right texture if i don't at first explain that only part of my trip over the last week has been geographic. that part is easy to write about. what isn't easy to write about is the railroad spike that has been driven through my cynicism. or a gaping hole of despair opening up in my stomach. then being cauterized. then ( Read more... )

I think the weekend was one long hysterical relief that we didn't lose you entirely in Stockton.
But we're really glad just to have been a part of your trip, Erik.

thanks again for satie, and clarification, and for understanding one hell of a lot.

why does this feel like a yearbook entry?

well, likewise! you passed the harsh light of morning exam. flying colors, my friend.

i don't have the slightest clue why you would imagine this is like a yearbook entry. don't change for anyone!!

yours till the butter flies,

I am glad I was there at the start of your journey! You were great company, despite your no-sleep cracked out state. Also I am happy that you found a ride so quickly and were able to leave the car with all of your limbs attached. When I left you, I was really just trying not to think of anything, so that I wouldn't send scared negative thoughts your way. I'm sorry that we ONCE AGAIN did not get to go to the beach, but we will someday, I swear. Have fun, be careful, and let me know if you need me to pick you up somewhere. ;)

oh dude! you should. you could get this whole legendary beer we didn't drink collection going.

i actually used to have a legendary gum i don't chew collection. it was in a frame.

but then i moved and rather than throw the gum away i chewed it. it was very dry, and not as legendary as i had imagined. I AM SURE THERE IS A LESSON TO BE LEARNED!!
