Speaking as a traveler and a photographer, color correction and sharpening are amongst the few alterations that I allow in my work. Hence, mine is a vote of confidence, good sir!
By the bye, I have been enjoying your photos, and I am envious of your adventure. Some day I may follow suit...
The things we see, the sounds we hear, the smells, the touches, even the vibes are all personalized, interpreted by *our* set of eyes, ears, noses (multiple noses for everyman). My red isn't your red. If you remember your red boat in a certain way, we ain't here to tell you different. I do wonder if that was the right boat to take, though.
Reminds me of time long ago, when a friend and I (as schoolkids) found an old submerged wooden jonboat tied up along a riverbank. We pulled it out, and over the course of two weeks or so, turned it back into a viable conveyance. Just as we were to launch on our maiden voyage, two Deliverance-type middle-aged men came up and commandeered it, claiming it was theirs all along and that we stole it. Disappointed, we went home boatless. Strangely enough, the next day, an odd rain of rocks and concrete blocks caused the boat to sink again. It returned home to the river bottom. Fancy that.
