Well maybe not, but I know the cause of my insomnia. It's not caffeine or stress or ambient noise, or anything reasonable like that, it's exercise. The magic number is around 2 hours it seems. If I play ultimate or soccer for more than that length of time during the afternoon, then I probably will be awake all night long no matter what I try to do ( Read more... )

That's a bummer. I'm the opposite - if I don't get a certain amount of exercise in the week, I tend not to sleep well anymore.

Yeah, I also generally get stir crazy if I don't get a minimum amount of exercise in a given week. But these last couple of months are the first time I've ever really seen consequences for a maximum - strange that they're caused by insomnia rather than an injury. I'll probably experiment a bit and see if there might be some other related cause like dehydration that's the real culprit.

Oh well, it's good to at least understand that there's some reason for the sleepless nights, even if it is a bizarre one.

Sleep is a fickle mistress!
Either your too anxious or too happy or you don't exercise enough or you are exercising too much.
