Why is it so hard to obey the law? I have a computer and I have to get rid of it. I did not anticipate that this would be a hassle, so now that there are only about 24 hours left for me to do this legally I am left scratching my head

It's not to difficult here - the local landfill has a electronic waste recycling drop box. You might try looking to see if there's anything like that where you are.

Yeah, maybe it's a regional thing. There are more places here in California than there used to be, making it quite a bit easier.

There's a time limit on when you can get rid of it? Was it a government issued computer?

Would the retailers have something where you could ship or take it back to? I would try checking with them.
