Silent Hill, Day 2 - Morning

Aug 07, 2010 07:07

The sun rises in Silent Hill with very little fanfare, considering the overcast weather, but it does rise.

Or does it? Those people standing by the door and looking out can see it dimly, off to the east, but for those waking up in the classroom, things are a little bit different outside those shattered windows.

When the sun rose, Leda made her way to the class room, and froze in the doorway.

"What the fuck?!"

Katniss was right behind her, and swore under her breath. "Where'd they go? We were here the whole time -- we need to canvass the school. Anywhere they could be in the classroom?"

Classroom: Wake up! fh_beasties August 7 2010, 12:13:22 UTC
The sleepers awake to find themselves exactly where they fell asleep, but... not. Outside the windows, the town is dim and gray under the thick, steady fall of what looks like dingy snow. Inside, the walls are more charred and peeling, the lockers are hanging by their hinges, there are freaky-ass noises coming from deeper into the school, and oh yeah -- those who stayed up last night to keep watch have completely disappeared. Might want to search the school for them.

It hadn't been the most restful sleep that Jonothon had ever gotten, no. His usual nightmares were running a twisted circuit between memory and something infinitely worse, fuelled by the steady thrum of wrongness that he couldn't quite shake.

When he woke, pulling himself to his feet and turning his back to the others almost immediately, his first view was directly out that window.

//... I didn't do this, either.//

Jonothon Starsmore: Still hating everything. Ever.

"You sure? Cause at least then we'd have an idea what the fuck is going on," Jake replied, sounding a little cranky. It might have had to do with his stomach rumbling, or just with the whole waking up in bizarro world thing.

Sometime in the early afternoon, after everyone has made it to Ash-world, an incredibly loud siren begins to go off - and the cell-phones start crackling and don't stop.

After about thirty seconds of that, shit gets... unreal. The paint is peeling completely off the walls in a wet, fleshy manner, revealing stuff that might be rust and might be blood. Cracks appear in the walls and floor, and everything goes almost completely dark.

And then the really nasty monsters show up. Chittering, swarming cockroach-like bugs with humanoid faces pour from the walls.

The janitor's body, now bent backwards like a crab shuffles down the hallway on his hands. His long tongue will whip out at you if you let him get too near, and where his fingers land, cracks in the floor open up, through which pour more creeper-bugs.

Those laughing child-ghosts from the playground? They're solid now, bodies charred and cracked, with fire visible inside them, and they're shrieking, not laughing, as they try to scrabble at your legs and drag you away ( ... )

When the paint started peeling, Bod didn't pay it much mind. When the paint peeled to reveal blood and the walls started cracking, he took a little more notice and started backing up.

When everything was pitched into darkness, his heart started hammering in his chest and he slowly pulled the borrowed knife out. He swallowed and didn't want to make a sound.

Eve through the darkness, he could see the familiar shape of the man earlier, now moving. The dead man was moving, slithering and Bod started moving backwards again, keeping the knife out in front of him.

[Feel totally free to join him/fight stuff/see the scary things omg!]

Okay. So maybe, just maybe this frigging world had scarier things than him in it. Jake didn't know if that was a good thing or not.

"What the fuck is this shit?" he hissed, quite possibly drawing attention towards himself.

Whatever, he was done with playing and he was getting out of his pants and changing so he'd have teeth to rip into those things.

"I don't know," Bod said hurriedly, looking down and making out the shapes of cockroaches swarming around his feet. His poor bare feet. They were already dirty and bloody so Bod barely felt the newest injuries.

"Can you see anything?" Bod knew Jacob's secret so he hoped that his eyesight was sharp even in darkness such as this.

After about ten minutes, the siren and cell noises stop. The walls unpeel, and any monsters being fought lift away into ash.

The nearest open door reveals another classroom, but this one has a familiar-looking rip in the wall. It looks exactly like the thing you fell through from Fandom in the first place.

Now? Now might be a good time to get the crap out of the school, through the next outside door you can find.

Jake's ears were grateful for the silence, but he couldn't believe it was over. Not by a long shot. He licked his muzzled, tasting his own blood from the burn wounds that had already healed up.

He just needed to make sure everyone was safe and then they should get the fuck out of here. But Didi was right, he had no clue where they should be going and as long as he stayed in wolf form, he wasn't going to be the one offering much suggestions.

Ping in here if so! You're also very welcome to mod any of the creatures listed in the Monster Index as being in the school.
