Outside the Labyrinth, Friday Evening, One Hour After The Previous Post

Dec 10, 2010 14:17

It seemed the time for research and planning was through. In Jareth's address to the island, he gave them twenty-four hours to traverse a Labyrinth that seemed to change on a whim and take back the friends that he had stolen. Well, what he didn't know was that their will was as strong as his, and their access to weaponry was better. He wanted a ( Read more... )

Gather in front of the entrance! it_bit_me December 10 2010, 19:18:11 UTC
About an hour after the Distraction Team heads into the Labyrinth, it's your turn to step inside. Gather together, gather your wits, and pray that the other group does an adequate job of attracting attention their way. You'll need all of the help you can get.

Set Out! it_bit_me December 10 2010, 19:18:40 UTC
My, what a long corridor this is. Oh, wait, there's a turn right over there that you've walked circles around at least ten times already. You weren't taking how easy this would be with another group going ahead of you for granted, were you? Have fun on your wild goblin chase tonight.

What the Hell ... ? it_bit_me December 10 2010, 19:19:07 UTC
Oops. Sometime after your fifteenth turn around, the corridor you're in has suddenly filled up with goblins! Goblins on...giant lizards? Is that a biting fetus on a stick? And they're using it to attack some big, fuzzy creature! Hey, hasn't that big guy been helping people this past week?

Oh. Bloody brilliant. Goblins with... mouthed... things. On sticks. That certainly struck Jonothon as a fun and productive way to spend his night. Really, what were these romps through Labyrinths for, if not to wrestle with dangerous beasts in the dark?

Well. He had his knife, at least. Which meant that when one of the goblins honed in on him, at least he wasn't completely a lost cause.

More or less.

"Remember," Genesis murmured, amusement in his voice at the sight of their foes. "Stab it, not you."

He was so helpful!

And an ass.

Keep that up, Genesis, and Jonothon was going to make an attempt at kicking you in the shin.

So there.

As it stood, however, he was going to duck, because there was a very nasty looking... fetus-thing, clinging to a stick and trying to bite the rest of his face off. Jono was actually rather fond of the half of a face that he still had. Ducking really did seem to be a good option, right about now.

Bringing up a fist to punch the goblin in the gut also seemed like a good idea.

... No, he didn't use the hand with the knife in it. He wasn't desperate enough to want to stab anybody yet. Annoying though they might be.

Well, that was surreal and a little disturbing, but Ludo seemed very grateful to be rescued. Now would probably be a good time to get out of dodge and press onward again. It's going to be a very long night. A very long night which you might want to hunker down and camp through, or just wander around lost in. After all, that castle is a long way away.

"So," Ben said, glancing around, "do we keep walking or stop for a few hours?"

George was tired. She didn't actually need to sleep, and reapers tended towards insomnia anyway, but she would have paid somebody for a big fluffy bed right now.

"It looks quiet, here," George said. "... Of course, now I fucking jinxed it and we'll be attacked by giant crab-spiders or something."

"No, that was the last thing," Ben said with a quick spark of his old humor. "I met those in a different dimension. They were creepy."
