Fire and Ice randomness

While waiting on George R. R. Martin to finally crank out the next batch of meth Fire and Ice novel, I like to idly try and work out my own cast for a movie/series based on it. Looks like there's a blog for a possible HBO pilot, and I'm not the only one who thinks of Peter Dinklage for Tyrion and Liam Neeson for Ned Stark. Strangely enough, they

Some of the younger characters are being made older. I forget the exact ages given, but I remember that Dany was going to be made 15 or 16, Jon and Robb the same (I think), Sansa 13, Arya 10 or something along those lines. Basically aged up about 2 years from the books, probably to make certain scenes legal and at least slightly more palatable to audiences.

My greater worry is that the adult characters are almost certain to be cast too old. I mean, Liam Neeson might be great for Ned as an actor, but he's about 20 years too old.

Really, I hope (and expect) that they will cast a lot of unknowns who look right (and can act, obviously) rather than a bunch of stars.

Neeson is a bit old, but I can't help but hear his voice when I read the first book, just like I hear(and see) Robby Coltrane as King Robert - as the old, fat version, mind you.

But I can live with unknowns as long as they can act and look somewhat like the original descriptions. :^) I just hope they also get a good composer. Bad visual fx I can live with, but a bad or boring soundtrack can kill an otherwise good show for me.
