By George I think they've got it!

Gwendoline Christie has been cast for the role of Brienne of Tarth. The other girl isn't short, Gwendoline is 6'3". (Fourth pic down, in the blue dress) For comparison the fellow playing Jaime is 6'2" so she will actually look down on him, just like the book.

Hope she hits the weights, she's got the height and probably can be made Hollywood HomelyRead more... )

As someone else pointed out on a web forum, it's a lot easier to ugly her up than it is to FX (is that useable as a verb?) her height. But I've seen a couple more that make me think yeah, she can do a Brienne easily.

Plus I've seen a full frontal nude now that was NOT on Google search, w00t! She's got the (lack of rack) for it, not that the IBTC member in me is complaining...

Still haven't gotten Dance of Dragons myself, forgot to preorder and I'm afraid to try and go to the bookstore in this heat. I may just get it before I go on vacation and read it on the plane so I'll have something new and exciting to read. So you don't have to worry about spoilers from me yet ;^)

I thought about going with the electronic version, but I prefer anything more than a short story in paper so far.

That may change if I get an e-reader, I tried one but it wasn't big enough, I have to find one that'll render DnD sized sourcebooks as well as novels.
