More on Order stuff and Noble House Play (ahoy!)

More thoughts after talking to Scholastica, and chewing over why just making up some gossip involving nobles and the Order and hoping it generated more play didn't sound that cool. Thinking of it as an official 'session' with a start and end may be a bit of a mistake. More an episode in the long squabble that is 'court' with a lower-case c. Just about everyone on the game has a reason for being in the Palace, and just about everyone in the game can find a stake. "I want my NPC friend to get this petition to Court with a big C, but NPC friend has no clout so I'll go make it." If people believe the NPC friend is important, then they should be able to use that as a reason to RP with stakes including but not limited to 'you are seen to support my petition' to 'I come out of this with egg on my face' and 'I make a friend and/or enemy'.

That make sense.

Perhaps by "official", I should expand the idea more to "not just a random encounter where we see what crops up organically in play". I do those kinds of scenes, and love them, but they are generally All About Two People. Instead, a scene where there's a destination in mind, even if stuff gets too interesting on the way to GET there (this time).

What I'm looking for here is what refinements to this would be /fun to play/. And also make my favourite prop(s) in the game cool(er).
