Hookerverse - Meme results
Collectively, fiandyfic has been asked for Hookerverse answers to several memes recently and those answers were given. marsorbiter has suggested that all these Hookerverse meme answers be collected together in once place so more folk could appreciate the back-story.
I think this is a good idea, if only to check for any inconsistencies in the back story! So, here they are.
Psuedo-canon meme for Hooker!Sam
1. He found out on his second night that actually *enjoys* giving blow-jobs.
2. He's terrified that Ray is going to find out, but knows it's only a matter of time.
Psuedo-canon meme for Hookerverse!Phyllis
1. She worked on the streets herself as a young girl, but managed to pull herself out of it. Which is why she sees herself as more of providing a service for the girls than exploiting them. She's already earned more than enough to retire on.
2. She thinks that Sam Tyler is far too *pretty* to be a copper. If she had her way she'd have him on his knees or back every single night and she knows she'd make a fortune out of it.
3. She has a son, but hasn't seen him for over ten years. He ran away from home when he was fifteen and she hasn't forgiven him or herself.

1. He's never had sex with anyone but his wife. Grateful blowjobs from the girls don't count.
2. He takes pride in what he does. He's still protecting the city, keeping it clean.
3. He's gone above and beyond the call of duty to protect Sam. He wishes that Sam would be suitably grateful.

First Kiss: Sam/Phyllis
After a long moment, Sam rolls over, still breathing heavily. Phyllis sits up and, reaching down for her handbag, quickly finds her fags and lights one. She takes a deep drag and then looks over at Sam, his body posture screaming fear with a touch of disgust.
"You know," she says conversationally, "I've never had chance to inspect my employees work that thoroughly before."
She leans over, claiming a deep kiss from Sam, before leaning back and looking at him thoughtfully.
"I think I've been under-charging for you, Tyler."
Five times Hookerverse!Gene showed Sam mercy.
1. Phyllis had been all for dumping the stupid git straight in the canal. After all his sniffing around, word had got out. Not that Phyllis was too worried. Her word would trump Tyler's any day of the week. But it was a damn inconvenience.
Gene persuaded her, over several whiskies, that it probably not the best solution. After all, another body in the canal now would only attract attention. Especially after some of the things Tyler had been looking through. And you never knew what he might have said elsewhere.
So he took care of things his way. Sam was shown the door (and the boot) the next day.
Bloody sod never guessed how lucky he was.
2. Charlie was an old buddy. They'd done National Service together. Gene knew of his proclivities, of course, but he never judged. Unlike that arse-bandit Warren, Charlie was a good bloke, on the straight and narrow, treated everyone with the same respect even if they deserved less.
Gene nodded to himself, he'd do.
3. The prospective client looked a nasty piece of work and no mistake. He couldn't put his finger on it, but his gut was screaming at him and Gene always trusted his gut instinct.
So he indicated to Jack that this client wasn't wanted and Jack had the job of letting the man know that he was dreadfully afraid that he didn't have anyone available that week.
A week later, when they found young Chris Winters out on waste-ground towards Trafford Park, come long dried on his face, his throat slit ear to ear, Gene tried not to think about how easily it could've been Sam.
4. It was July 10th and Sam wasn't working. Which was sort of strange, but very welcome. Gene had shown up earlier in the evening with his weeks assignments in person. He handed over a bottle of good whisky along with apologies from Ben who was apparently out of town on a last minute job.
The two of them steadily made their way through the bottle, talking as if it were old times, even if both skirted around any subject that involved Sam's former life or his new one.
It was a pleasant way to spend a birthday.
5. Gene immediately recognised the latest corpse to show up on his patch, even though he was pretty sure the man's own mother would've had trouble. The man had taken a beating before having his brains blown out. Served him right.
But he remembered the look on Sam Tyler's face the last time they had met the man. And in an uncharacteristic gesture, made sure the corpse was filed under "Vic Morton, no next of kin."
