Maybe he was pining for the fjords... Or the time before he let familiarity or banality totally set the agenda for his life. Maybe he was a gamer back in the day. Or maybe I've just had too much sake. That's a possibility too...

I bet he was remembering a time when banality wasn't such a heavy factor in his life, before money for goofy things like costumes and toys and cheesy movies was saved and spent on credit card bills and mortgages.
