I am really sorry to hear this news. I totally agree/understand about needing the security - I could not work with the looming pink slip dangled over my head all the time. It's like you could focus your efforts on doing a better job if you weren't constantly worried that the job would be gone in the morning. They industry should probably think of that, but then I'm sure they'd argue that they're keeping things 'fresh'? Keeping people 'on their toes'? (Am I right? pft!) It's just cruel and awful, I think. I'm just not cut out for cut-throat.
