& i suppose a little different, as i have a piece that isn't yarn.
i'm in a surface design class, & my latest piece was actually an air & ocean inspired one.
the fabric is one yard of 8mm habotai silk.
dyed with acid dye, i did a flat layer for the overall lilac-y/grey color, then used the arashi shibori technique with cotton thread for the turquoise

i spent a lot of time working on this piece.
i don't know how to spin so it's fascinating to see the work this communities shows a lot of.
