Buffalo

AHh ok im going to really stretch this one to fit in this week's category of  "BITE".

Its been raining since yesterday and i have a 4 yr old that is bored bored bored bored and that really "bites". So I had him help me card all this fluff up.

Is it hard to spin buffalo? What fiber would you compare it to??

Its a very light fluffy short fiber. I would compare it to the undercoats of any long hair dog. It reminds me much of my Australian Shepherd, but it doesnt smell like dog.

Lots moss some bits of grass and tiny twigs in it. But for the most part its just really dusty. It does have a slight "cattle" oder. These buffalo are kept on 100% grass no burrs! Found some dandelion heads though.

I ran most of it through the drum carder 7-8 times. I'll then handcard as i spin to get the rest of the bits out.

I've felt buffalo yarn in LYS and it is very, very soft. Be sure to post anything you make of it. If I remember it was about $75 a skein (enough to make a scarf).
