Not that you need more complications, but Oragel has been linked to rare but serious, sometimes fatal, cases of methemglobinemia.

Thanks, like I'm not paranoid enough! :P Seriously though, like most meds it "has been linked to rare and sometimes fatal cases of ...." and like anything I give the little boy, it's been thuroughly discussed with his peaditrictian. Of course I wonder how many of those cases were people who gave their children meds and put them to bed, exceeded the dosage, had a family history of alergies to "caine" anestetics, or simply didn't pay attention to what was happening with their child. (My view of about 40% of the parents out there may be somewhat cynical due to the region I live in.)
