44 jars of beautiful red jam.  Yesterday I made and canned 44 jars of jam.  36 were peach rum jam, and 8 were plain peach (I ran out of rum).   There is also about a pint of fresh jam in the fridge in the form of the skim bowls.  I couldn't resist the last peaches of the season when I went to the local dairy on saturday (the orchardist was off ( Read more... )

wondered what you were up to this weekend - shoulda figured, since I was thinking about almost the same thing :) I put up a small batch (only 8 jars) of peach jam, from peaches from said dairy, a couple of weeks ago and was contemplating more peaches. Maybe tomorrow... this week I will need the distraction.

Do you want to borrow the squeeze-o? I pulped all 22 lbs in an hour and a half. Process is wash peaches, pit, quarter and run through. (no scalding, pealing, or dicing required.... it's the awsome!)
