Looking for a good quick satisfying read. For some reason I don't have the energy for deep, award-winning quality fiction, I need fast paced mysteries or something along that line. I'm going to look for Harry Potter and the 1/2 Blood Prince at the library (I haven't read it yet, sue me). In case it's not in circ (highly likely) any other

Have you ever read Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card? Technically YA but definitely engrossing and a page turner.

I have read some other really good YA fiction though. The series by Pullman, His Dark Materials.
I could barely put them down.

heh -- I haven't read a single harry potter book yet!! (I figure I'll wait till the kids are older and we'll read them together...)

good recent reads:
-Leif Enger, Peace Like a River
-Louise Erdrich, The Antelope Wife (or anything else; she's not an easy read, but definitely rewarding)

and... um. I guess most of my reading these days is about knitting, quilting, and gardening....
