It always feels a little bit odd saying 'welcome' here, since nobody really wants fibro in the first place, but welcome to the group anyway. I hope you're doing as well as you can be.

This is true, but we all get through it don't we. Better together than apart in my opinion :-) I'm doing ok thanks, taking medication and trying to keep a positive attitude. Yourself?

That's very true indeed, and I love the community aspect. It's so lovely to know there are people around even on the crappiest of days.

I'm doing quite well today. I went out last night to a card night with friends, with dares/favours instead of money, and won a neck/shoulder massage from a friend who's a physiotherapist. I was almost getting used to the neck pain I've been having recently, but he has magic hands (or, heh, a lot of training) and fixed it up. Plus, laughter being the best medicine and all, I'm just feeling wonderful. The dares were funny things, like funny dances, singing songs for the group, and playing rounds in terrible accents, and I haven't laughed so hard in ages. I thought I might be sore today, because it was a late night, but instead I'm feeling really happy, so yay!

One of the best tips I ever got was from this community. Using magnesium has helped me more than anything. Without it I was cramping so bad, worse than the pain I have all day/night. So, I'm grateful. But, nothing helps me sleep.

Hi Karoline,

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in January last year ...and am still struggling with the illness.

How long do you think you had the illness before diagnosis? What coping mechanisms do you use?

I myself am regularly meeting with a pain specialist and he has me on 200mg of slow-release Tramadol and Lyrica nightly to help me relax and sleep. What medications are you taking for it?

Anyway, welcome :)
