“Where are you going?” Jason asked as Casey got out of bed.
“Damn. Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you up,” she told him as she reached the door. “Go back to sleep.”
He sat up. “Where are you going?” he asked again.
“I need to get some coffee.”
He glanced at his clock. “You need coffee at five in the morning? Do I really smell that bad?”
“Not that bad. I have an addiction.”
“An addiction to coffee?”
“Yeah. Haven’t you heard? Coffee’s the new crack.”
“Damn, now there’s one more thing for the narks to go after.” He sat on the edge of the bed and held his hand out to her.
“What?”
“Come here,” he told her, motioning for her to take his hand.
She took a step toward him and put her hand in his. “What?” she asked again.
He pulled her into his lap and kissed her. She laughed softly against his lips as her fingers curled into the short hair at the nape of his neck.
She started leaning back on the bed, Jason willingly went with her until she was laying on top of him.
He pulled away to look at her. “I thought you wanted coffee.”
She made a face. “This is more fun.” She kissed him again. “Your coffee sucks anyway.”
