“Hello?” Penny asked, answering her ringing cell phone as she flipped through the pages of the magazine she was reading while lounging on her couch.
“Hey,” a familiar voice said.
“Leonard?” she asked, tossing her magazine aside. “Are you home? Are you at the airport? I’ll come pick you up,” she said quickly, jumping off the couch.
“No. No. I’m not coming back until Tuesday. I just wanted to see how you’re feeling.”
“Oh.” She frowned, sitting down again. “You’re still in Switzerland? What time is it there?” She glanced at the clock on her wall.
“About midnight, but it’s five o’clock there so I figured this would be an appropriate time to call you.”
“It’s midnight?” She sighed. “Leonard, go to sleep.”
“Not until I know how you’re feeling,” he insisted.
She smiled. “Better. I woke up this morning and felt fine.”
“That’s good. Do you want to do something when I get home?”
“Well, yeah,” she said as though the answer was obvious.
He laughed. “I mean like a delayed Valentine’s Day, since we missed the real one. Let’s go dancing,” he suggested.
“Sweetie, you can’t dance.”
“Yeah, I know. I just thought it might be fun.”
“Alright. How about we figure it out when you get home so you can get some sleep?”
“I don’t want to sleep. I want to talk to you. Besides, Raj is hogging the bed.”
“You and Raj have been sharing…” she began, but cut herself off, shaking her head. “Never mind.”
“Yeah, I don’t really want to talk about it.”
“Good, cause I don’t wanna hear about it.”
“Deal.”
“Deal.”
“So,” Leonard said, dragging out the word after a long pause. “What are you wearing?”
