“Leonard?” Penny asked as she walked out of the bedroom. She found him sitting at her computer desk, pieces of her disassembled computer covering the desktop. “Leonard, what are you doing? It’s three in the morning.”
“Really?” He glanced at his watch. “Huh, so it is.”
“Have you been out here all night?”
“Apparently.”
She walked over to him slowly, resting her hands on his shoulders, rubbing them softly. “Why don’t you come to bed?”
He shook his head. “I still have a lot of work to do here.”
“Clearly. My L key popped off. Why did you have to take the whole thing apart?”
“You’ve been complaining about it overheating and it sounded like a problem with the hard drive. That could have been a really serious problem.”
She reached around him and picked up a tiny silver key. “You still haven’t fixed my L key,” she mumbled.
“I’ll get to it.”
“You know how to put this whole thing back together, right?”
“Of course I do.”
“Where’s that go?” she asked, pointing to a piece at the corner of the desk.
He looked up. “In the… computer,” he mumbled.
“You have no idea what you’re doing, do you?”
“I did,” he insisted. “I’ve fixed computers before. I’ve just never taken one completely apart.”
“So you decided to use my computer as your guinea pig?”
“What? No. Your computer just happened to have a hard drive issue that needed attending to.”
“I still don’t understand why you took apart my whole computer.”
He blinked. “Because… well… I could.”
She nodded and began walking back to the bedroom. “You know you owe me a new computer, right?”
He sighed as he stood and followed her. “Yeah, I know.”
