but this. this. this. oh. everything in this is so freaking wonderful and real and so well thought out... this whole au is so perfectly fantastic and i love how flawlessly you lead us into it. the characterisations were perfect, oh my god, so amazing and real. your writing is superb and i love it and want to roll in it forever.

That first generation was of course, Tatsu’s own grandparents, who, amazingly enough, still stuck around to tell the tales, how they remembered being just "human", once; how the breakthrough of finding the particular key genetic code to unlock the Powers’ gene pools were found in an unknown, ordinary lab rat… this made me 'ooooh' audibly. i just really like this sentence.
