Shannon is all about order. Everything has to be in nice neat little boxes that are displayed and never touched. Because if they are touched or, heaven forbid, moved in any way shape or form, the world will come to an end. Her father spoils her. He gives her everything she wants. Her mother is perfect, polished. She's who Shannon aspires to be one day. Her friends at school treat her like the princess she is. Every single one of them are lined up on her metaphorical coffee table.
Except for Boone. Boone is the only one who refuses to be a box. He resists being lined up. He's always askew. Boone wants to be someone that dosen't kiss her ass. He doesn't revolve around her but conflicts with her being the center of the universe. Their parents don't baby or spoil him, but they let him have his freedom and because of that Shannon is completely jealous. And because of that she's made a special box for him. This one he won't move. This one he won't get out of.
