Grisham sees a lot from the vantage point of her office and not just because she has large glass windows.
People are so used to her being there that they often forget she's there, which makes it an excellent way to observe her team without actually having to be in the room. It doesn't hurt that it means the two people she usually wants to keep an eye on are within her line of sight, either. Slade because she deliberately placed him at a desk that allowed her to keep an eye on him, and Turner because she can normally be found hanging on the edge of his desk, or in her office with the door open so she can see his desk from hers.
Their department has had too many science officers. Promising, intelligent people who usually didn't last thanks to Slade's ability to piss them off -- and sometimes due to Morris, who has always been equally adept at sending them screaming from the office because of his own stupidity -- so naturally it bothered her when the two of them first got together.
Holly Turner has outlasted them all so far and, as an added bonus, Slade respects her intelligence as well as her looks. So when they finally got together, six months after that fiasco with Turner's ex, Marlowe, she'd groaned and started keeping an eye out for potential replacements. Grisham likes Slade, thinks he's a brilliant detective when he wants to be, if a little unconventional, but he does have a tendency to get himself into trouble.
If she's honest, she thinks Jeff Slade would try the patience of a saint and Holly Turner is no saint. She is, from what Grisham's observed, prone to jealousy and often insecurity (which usually manifests itself as jealousy... either way, it's a problem). So while she supported them getting together as long as they kept it out of the office, she also worried, for their sakes and admittedly for her own, that they weren't going to make it.
But they're nearly a year into their relationship and they still seem as strong as ever. There have been fights (she made them both take a two month paycut to pay for the equipment Turner threw at him in their first truly bad public argument) and there have been problems (the number of times she's had to call Slade into her office for a time-out, to let him pace and rant about "women!" and how "I've never given her a reason not to trust me!" are incalculable) but despite it all they are still an excellent team. Her best team without question.
Which doesn't mean Slade's off the hook for the bill that's sitting on her desk.
So when the two of them round the corner together, his hand resting on her hip and a happy smile on her face, she gives them exactly one minute to enjoy themselves and then snaps, "SLADE! My office! Now!"
Slade would try the patience of a saint and Turner may be gunning for sainthood but she certainly isn't.
