Title: Hiding Out At The Raven.
Fandom: Forever Knight (Natalie, Janette).
Rated: G.
Notes: After I got through re-watching Hunters, the episode from season one where Schanke stays at the Raven (I did love that episode, heh) I thought 'What if Natalie was forced to hide out at the Raven because someone was trying to kill her?' and then there was

I adore Natalie and Janette friendship (or Natalie/Janette, for that matter), and this is a wonderful little AU-ish vignette that I could still see fitting into canon as a case they dealt with between episodes.
The fact that both women can connect, both about and around Nick, is the best. Because it's not all about him, after all.
ETA: By the way, I went and recced both of your FK fics here on my personal recs/fic comm. These are certainly wonderful enough that they deserve a wider audience.

I nearly didn't bother linking these stories in my post because I didn't think there'd be any interest in them, but I'm incredibly glad I did now. Your comments and the fact that you recced my fic (thank you!) made my day.
I think Nick will always be something that they have in common but in the sense that [if Natalie crossed] I can see them calling each other up throughout the ages and having conversations that begin with phrases like, "You would not believe what Nicholas has done now..."
They understand better than anyone what it's like to play the part of A Woman In Nick's Life and there's definitely fun (and fic!) to be found in exploring that.

I love that the two of them have that give and take between tension and amusement, between annoyance and fascination. I love Natalie imitating Janette's pronounciation of "Nicholas" perfectly, and their banter over food and paperwork, as well as the more serious discussion of bringing people across.
Thank you for this.

Add me to the chorus of people who would have liked more interaction between the two ladies.
Their mannerisms are so wonderfully articulated. I can visualize this conversation happening in my mind's eye. Thank you for that.
This story is a great treat. Thanks so much for playing in the Forever Knight pool.
