Number Four -
Whimsy/Reality
Standing guard outside the Consulate is an important duty. Fraser knows this like he knows the correct way to fill out a R3A-1/TY requisition form.
Still. That doesn’t mean that he enjoys the hours of standing motionless, subtly flexing and relaxing groups of muscles so that they don’t cramp up and result in an unfortunate incident when his shift is over and the time comes to walk away (falling over would be an utter disgrace).
Once he’s settled into position it’s a simple matter to check his posture and then let his mind unwind. Instead of a musty, polluted street filled with gawping tourists, Fraser imagines being at the 2-7, helping Ray solve cases and make a difference. He daydreams about successful chases and properly obtained confessions and, inside his head, he smiles.
