Number Five - Whimsy/
Reality Ray’s apartment smells like the humans have been mating again. Dief supposes that he approves. At least it leaves him undisturbed to hunt out the pizza that he can also smell and to continue the turtle’s education on the tundra.
Fraser’s office smells like dust cut with snow. Dief suspects this means that they are to be visited by Fraser’s dead father at some point in the very near future. Dief eyes the closet door in a wary fashion and goes to find Fraser to warn him.
Food bowls at Ray’s apartment are the envy of the neighborhood. Dief has made it his practice to hold court with the local dogs and explain, in detail, about the wonders of pineapple pizza topped with leftover Chinese noodles. His stomach growls at the thought.
Food bowls at Fraser’s office are a cause for snippy comments and heavy sighs. Every day there isn’t a donut, Diefenbaker spends at least fifteen minutes (spread throughout the day) informing Fraser that he is a candidate for a visit from the SPCA.
Sounds at Ray’s apartment are usually caused by Diefenbaker stepping on the television remote to drown out the sounds of his humans mating. Frequently.
Sounds at Fraser’s office contain a lot of meandering stories from a dead Mountie. Dief wonders if Fraser would be amenable to the recommendation of a Catholic priest for an exorcism.
