“Daddy!!” Jack wailed in utter terror.
Hotch shot up out of bed to cross the hall into his son’s room, “Jack?” He moved swiftly as the boy sat up in bed crying, “Jack, sweet kid, it’s okay.” Lifting the child into his arms Hotch held him close, “Shh, it’s okay,” he kissed the top of Jack’s head, “it’s okay.”
“There was a monster,” Jack whimper, “it ate Mommy and was tryin’ to eat me.”
“It was a dream,” Hotch reassured his son softly, crushed his son had to fight demons that only adults should since the loss of his mother.
